If you don’t need to (or rather cant) use your full ISA allowance each yeah then you might as well park all your savings into one simple cash ISA, although it can take a little longer to get the money out, they generally pay higher rates than instant access accounts.

Doing this along with an R85 form can really make a big difference, you’re not only saving money, you could MAKE money!

If you don’t pay tax then it makes sense that you shouldn’t pay tax on your savings. As default, nearly all banks will deduct tax from the interest they pay you unless you actually fill out a form (specifically the R85) confirming you don’t pay tax. So check with your bank today and take the time to complete this form.

Cheap as chips christmas dinner

It is easy to spend more than you mean to at Christmas whether it be on presents or the classic Christmas dinner. Believe it or not it’s actually possible to create a great looking and tasting meal for under £15 for the whole family!

Most supermarkets will have a fresh supply of turkeys in stock from mid December, However there are two great value frozen equivalents:

Lidl self-basting turkey 4kg - £5.69

Aldi frozen turkey 4kg - £5.99

You can also get value priced stuffing and such like. Basically just remember that you don’t have to spend the world just because its the festive season, relax and just have a good time! I actually saw this tip over at The Motley Fool which is also where I went for my mortgages advice!

Welcome to the one and only online savers club which will give you the best tips every week to make the most of your money and save where appropriate. To start the ball rolling I’ll give you this weeks tip.

The average person spends just over £400 on presents for ten people which averages out at around £20 per present. However many people buy more than one present for each loved one. Its important to remember that christmas is about being with your loved ones and just having a break from the stresses of life, it’s not about how much you spend on presents for people.

Don’t simply buy presents for people because you think you should or because you’re going to be seeing them over the christmas season, only buy the present if it actually means something.
